INDIA
Sherry & Mike F
We had a life-changing experience in India! The duality of chaos and peace makes India a feast for the senses. The ashram in Rishikesh was incredibly transformative and enriching. Surrounded by the serene beauty of the Himalayas and the sacred Ganges River, the ashram provided the perfect environment for growth, self-reflection, and physical rejuvenation. We followed a daily routine of meditation, pranayama, and asana practice. The nourishing Ayurvedic meals, the sense of community with people from around the world, and the opportunity to immerse ourselves in yogic philosophy made this trip truly special.

CAMINO DE SANTIAGO, SPAIN
Pam N.
I recently returned from a life-changing adventure walking the Camino de Santiago, and I can’t help but reflect on what an incredible experience it was. From the moment we set foot on the Camino, there was an unspoken bond that formed among us. Some of us were strangers at first, but over the course of the journey, we became a tight-knit group, each of us sharing our stories, struggles, and triumphs. The beauty of walking through scenic towns, lush forests, and rolling hills was only magnified by the conversations we had along the way. Our guides were fantastic—knowledgeable, thoughtful, and always encouraging when we needed that extra bit of motivation to keep going. The Camino is a journey of the heart and mind. It’s one of those rare trips that allows for deep introspection, yet also opens you up to connecting with others in ways that feel profound and unexpected.

GUATEMALA

In 2024, I traveled to Lake Atitlan in Guatemala with Peace through Yoga. Lake Atitlan is a crater lake located in the Sierra Madre Mountains. Our accommodations, Villa Sumaya, were situated right on the shore of the lake and surrounded by lush vegetation. The proprietor of Villa Sumaya brought in wellness providers experienced in various massage techniques to treat us. The yoga area was beautiful and serene. As always, the yogis on the trip were knowledgeable and led enjoyable sessions. We visited a Mayan village and participated in a cacao ceremony, led by an experienced Mayan guide. Since this experience, I have developed a greater respect for the word “cacao.” I especially enjoyed the kayak trip, as it was challenging but manageable. I’m also glad that I participated in the Chichimeca Sweat Lodge Ceremony. Throughout my time in Guatemala, I felt safe and well cared for.

COSTA RICA - CARIBBEAN RAINFOREST
Julie F.
I often close my eyes and transport myself back to a magical place deep in the Costa Rican rainforest. I hear the howler monkeys, see baby sloths, and watch colorful toucans swirling overhead. After traveling on retreats five times with Sally Basset and Peace through Yoga, I would return again and again! Mornings and evenings were spent practicing yoga to the sounds of the jungle, while the afternoons offered the perfect balance of both leisure and adventure. The accommodations and food were always fabulous! The highlight for me was meeting and working with the girls at the Girls for Success School. I was fortunate to make these trips with my mother, who I’m proud to say was a founding sponsor of the school and had a special place in her heart for it. After she passed away in 2023, I continued her sponsorship and frequently receive school updates, newsletters, and personal notes from the young girl I now sponsor. These communications make me feel connected and remind me that I’m making a difference in her life. I highly recommend traveling with PTY. Can’t wait for my next trip to Banff, Canada!

UGANDA
Susie M. - Travel Manager
In 2012 I was able to travel with Peace through Yoga to Uganda. It was one of the best trips of my life. I made new friends and had new adventures. We volunteered at a birthing center, had land and water safaris, and went rafting on the Nile River. The trip of a lifetime!

BANFF, CANADA
Connie P. - Educator
I traveled to Banff with Peace through Yoga in August of 2024. Not only was the adventure full of hikes, an electric bike ride, and a gondola through Banff National Park, but the views were pristine from any angle of the different experiences. The Banff Lodge, where we stayed, bordered a breathtaking walk along the river that led to the Bow Falls and the sound of the roar of the water and the rapids. The days ended with yoga in the Banff Lodge, followed by different types of cuisine in the quaint town of Banff. One of the best outcomes of the trip was the wonderful, engaging conversations and the bonding with the people on this trip. I am already signed up for several future trips because traveling this way leads one to not only to further self-discovery, but connections that can endure a lifetime.

MOROCCO

Our trip to Morocco was amazing! Peace through Yoga offered a great itinerary that took us from the bustling city of Marrakesh to the Atlas mountains, then into the desert for glamping and even to the seaside town of Essaouira on the Atlantic coast. Sally, along with our Moroccan guide, provided a great experience, including a twice a day yoga practice and delicious culinary options. I look forward to joining this trip again!

ST. GEORGE’S CAYE, BELIZE
Kim and Ken T. - Environmental Engineer and Development Engineer
My husband and I had an amazing time on the private island St. George’s Caye Resort in Belize with PTY. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we’ve had, and we’ve been on many island trips. Everything we needed was right there at the resort—the meals were fabulous, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We took the Ambergris Caye snorkeling trip, visited San Pedro, and explored the ruins. Each experience was highly enjoyable, and the guides were extremely knowledgeable. We can’t wait to return!

COSTA RICA – CARIBBEAN RAINFOREST
Olivia L. - Student
I loved Costa Rica because of the rainforest and waking up to howler monkeys in our bungalow. Our trip was filled with adventures from zip-lining, hiking through the rainforest, swimming in waterfalls, doing yoga twice a day, experiencing a cocoa ceremony, going to different beaches and river rafting. The highlight was working in PTY’s new Girls for Success School that was just finished the week we arrived. It was fun teaching the girls to cooking easy recipes and making slime. Hope to go back someday to see my new friends again.
